In short

01Information we don't collect

Word Wheel has no account creation, no sign-in, and no backend server operated by us. We — the developer — do not directly collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or any other personal information through the app.

no accounts no email collection no location tracking no contacts access no camera / microphone no analytics SDK

02Information stored on your device

The app saves a small amount of gameplay data locally, using standard Android on-device storage. None of it leaves your device or reaches us:

Level progress

Which levels you've completed, your best score and star rating for each — stored in a local database on your device.

Last played level

So "Continue" can pick up where you left off after closing the app.

Free hint status

Whether you've used the app's one-time free hint.

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android's app settings, permanently deletes all of this.

03App permissions

Word Wheel requests the following Android permissions, each used only for what's described here:

Internet

Needed to load and display ads (Section 4). The word puzzles themselves work fully offline.

Network state

Lets the app check whether you're online before attempting to load an ad, so it can tell you clearly if you're not, rather than leaving an ad request stuck.

Notifications

Used only for one optional daily local reminder (Section 5). Nothing is sent to or from a server for this.

04Third-party services

Word Wheel shows ads through Google AdMob (a banner ad and an optional rewarded video ad you can choose to watch for an in-game hint). Because the app's audience includes children, every ad request is marked with AdMob's child-directed treatment setting and capped at AdMob's most family-friendly content rating (Section 7) — this is set once for the whole app, not per player.

To serve and measure ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK still collects some data on its own behalf — general device information and an app install identifier used for frequency capping, fraud prevention, and reporting. Child-directed treatment specifically stops the advertising ID from being sent and turns off interest-based/personalized advertising and remarketing entirely.

This data collection is governed by Google's own policies, not ours. See Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services for details.

05Notifications

If you allow it, the app schedules one local reminder notification per day, entirely on your device using Android's WorkManager — there's no server involved, and nothing about your play habits is transmitted anywhere to decide when or what it sends. You can decline the permission when asked, or turn notifications off at any time in Android's Settings → Apps → Word Wheel → Notifications.

06Your choices

Ad personalization

There's nothing to opt out of here: the app already requests non-personalized, child-directed ads for every player, all the time (Section 4), so there's no separate "turn off personalized ads" toggle to use inside Word Wheel or your device's ad settings that would change anything further.

Notifications

Decline the permission prompt, or disable it later from your device's app notification settings.

Your gameplay data

Long-press any unlocked level on the Level Select screen to reset its saved progress, or uninstall the app to erase everything at once.

07Children's privacy

Word Wheel's target audience includes children as well as adults. In line with Google Play's Families Policy, the app is built so it has nothing of a child's to collect in the first place: no accounts, no sign-in, no forms, and (Section 1) no personal information gathered by us at all.

The one place outside data storage that needed a specific change was ads: every ad request the app makes is tagged for child-directed treatment under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which stops the advertising ID and other identifiers from being sent, turns off personalized/interest-based advertising and remarketing, and restricts ad content to AdMob's most family-friendly rating. This applies to every player, not only ones who are actually children, since the app has no way to tell the two apart.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information some other way, contact us at the email below and we'll address it.

08Data retention & security

Because gameplay data stays on your device rather than passing through a server we run, its security is primarily governed by your device's own protections (screen lock, disk encryption, and so on). We take reasonable care in how the app is built, but no method of electronic storage is ever 100% secure. Data collected by Google AdMob is retained and secured under Google's own practices, described in the policies linked in Section 4.

09Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's Play Store listing. We encourage checking back occasionally if you'd like to stay current.
